PURPOSE: A shape measuring apparatus for eyeglasses is provided to measure the shape of an eyeglass frame accurately and easily even in case of eyeglass frames exceeding a base curve by installing a holding unit holding an eyeglass frame.;CONSTITUTION: A shape measuring apparatus(1) for eyeglasses comprises a holding unit, a holding unit swing device, a ruler a driving unit, a position detection unit, and a control operation unit. The holding unit holds the components for the eyeglasses. The holding unit swing device(S) swings the holding unit around a simulated shaft(402) set up outside the shape measuring apparatus. The ruler traces the surface of the components for the eyeglasses. The driving unit drives the ruler. The position detection unit detects the location of the ruler.
