PURPOSE: An arrangement for creating and using a phonetic-alphabet representation of a name of a party to a call is provided to supply originator identification information accurately by generating and using a voice text expression in the case of remote communication.;CONSTITUTION: A communications system comprising two or more communication devices(102,110) interconnected by at least one communications network(106). Each device has a display screen(112). Within a network, devices connect to, and are served by, a server(104). Alternatively, each device may be served by a different server of the network. The server also connects a computer to the communication device, in a conventional manner. The communications system may be any desired communications system. The network comprises a private or the public service telephone network, the server comprises a telephone switch such as a private branch exchange or a telephone central office, and the communication devices comprise wired or wireless telephones. The network comprises a data network such as the Internet or a local area network, the server comprises a communications server such as a proxy, a communications manager, or a VOIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) private branch exchange, and the communication devices comprise any desired devices such as wired or wireless VoIP telephones, personal digital assistants, personal computers, etc.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
