A system and a method for processing electronic map data are provided to enable a user to correct/edit vector data of the electronic map data received from an electronic map server and convert the edited data into an image file, and enable a plurality of users to join in correcting the electronic map data or making new contents. A user terminal(30) corrects and edits vector data of electronic map data. A web server(10) allows access to the user terminal, and provides an interface for requesting and receiving map information between an electronic map server(20) and the user terminal. The electronic map server stores/manages an electronic map and provides the electronic map data by storing the electronic map data processed/received from the user terminal. The user terminal includes a vector data editing software module(310) for correcting/editing vector data of the electronic map data, an electronic map drawing editing software module(320) providing an electronic map drawing function, and an image conversion software module(330) converting the corrected/edited electronic map data into an image form. The electronic map server includes a database(240) for storing the electronic map data, the corrected/edited vector data, and the image data. An electronic upgrade module(260) upgrades an electronic map by reflecting a map information error and a corresponding coordinate in real time based on the analysis of accuracy and information of vector data in electronic map data.
