A television having a sleep inducing device, a television having a sleep inducing device for a network and a control method thereof are provided to perform update to the latest information through a network and receive estimation for user's sleep form from an expert, thereby maintaining latest data all the time. A sleep induction unit(150) displays a sleep induction image through an image display unit, and outputs sounds corresponding to the sleep induction image through a speaker. A sleep detection unit(162) cuts off power of a television by determining a sleep state if there is no input of a remote controller for a predetermined time in a state when the sleep induction unit is activated. A data storage(200) stores the sleep induction image data and the sound data, and is readable by the sleep induction unit.
