A method and a system for promoting a multiuser diet by using a scale connected to an external device, and the scale thereof are provided to induce competition among participated users by measuring weight with the scale connected to the external device and comparing a diet attainment ratio of the participated users. A scale(860) connected to an external device measures weight of a user and transmits the measured weight to a central processor(850). The central processor provides healthcare information including at least one of a health state, an exercise prescription, a nutrient prescription, and needed consultation suitable for the user based on the weigh information. The central processor sets up a contest environment including a diet goal applied to the users, and provides a contest result including ranking determined based on a diet attainment ratio of each users. The central processor provides group ranking based on the result summing up the diet attainment ratio of the users included in the same group.
