EFFCIENT SIMILARITY SEARCH METHOD FOR CONTENT BASED MULTIMEDIA RETRIEVAL WITH RELEVANCE FEEDBACK

A multimedia search method based on the contents including relevance feedback is provided to search a target object, existing within a similar distance to a new query object, in a short time by using results calculated in the previous search process. A multimedia search method based on the contents including relevance feedback comprises the following steps of: generating a set of search results by searching according to the first query object(S100, S110); calculating the actual distances between target objects within the search result set and a query object, and then storing the calculated result in an approximation distance arrangement unit(S120); performing the relevance feedback for the search result set, and then generating a new query object(S130, S140); calculating the approximation distances between target objects within the search result set and the new query object; and generating a candidate search set which includes target objects having the approximation distances is smaller than a preset similar distance(r)(S150).
