A hand-held emergency gas mask is provided, which uses the catalyst filter material blocking absorption of the harmful material and toxicity by performing adsorption process compositively. A hand-held emergency gas mask using the catalyst filter material comprises: a cylinder type septic tank(2a,2b) which includes the catalyst filter material and is detachably adhered to the side of the main body through the connecting part; and a mouth-piece(3) posted at the front inner side of the main body. The catalyst filter material of the cylinder type septic tank has the mineral of the bentonite series as the main material. The mineral of the bentonite series is prepared by drying or calcinating Na-based bentonite at a high temperature.
