Batch composition of basic gunning refractories having excellent resistance of erosion and adhesive properties

PURPOSE: A basic refractory composition for hot gunning repair is provided, which has excellent corrosion resistance and adhesion to substrate by using magnesia clinker and spinel as main materials. CONSTITUTION: The gunning repair composition comprises the components of: 50-65wt.% of magnesia clinker, fused magnesia clinker; 22-30wt.% of spinel for adhesion of gunning materials; 2-4wt.% of ultrafine silica powder, being less than 0.047mm in size, for sintering of gunning materials and workability; 2-4wt.% of sodium silicate with a molar ratio SiO2/NaO2 of 3; 2-5wt.% of one compound selected from CaO, Ca(OH)2 and CaCO3 for bonding of gunning materials; 3-5wt.% of cokes(0.149mm); 2-3wt.% of inorganic fiber, composed of Al2O3 and SiO2, with a 3-5mm length; and 2-3wt.% of sodium phosphate for dispersion of gunning materials.
