An online optimization system of a petrochemical process and an optimizing method thereof are provided to minimize the preheat energy of the air supplied during a catofin regeneration process and maximize a propylene production quantity by overcoming a catalytic inactivation. An online steady-state optimizer(200) calculates an internal temperature setting value inside a reactor to maximize an amount of propylene and minimize the energy required fro preheating the air. A repetitive controller(300) corrects the state without a control operation in the dehydrogenation process to reach an internal temperature of the reactor to a temperature setting value calculated by the steady-state optimizer, corrects the state during a regeneration process and controls the temperature and flow of the air inputted to the reactor. A model parameter estimator(400) estimates a model parameter by using information obtained from the catofin reactor and the repetitive controller. A catofin reactor model unit(500) is a discrete time nonlinear model to differentiate the numerical process with regard to the time and is used for control and optimization. A linear unit(600) linearizes a non-linear model of the catofin reactor model unit.
