The partial discharge position detection system and a discharge position detection method of the power device is provided. Partial discharge sensor detecting an electromagnetic partial discharge signal and the waveform of the detected signal is measured by the waveform measurement apparatus. It converts the waveform signal by separating the transmission mode, by using the arrival time and frequency-dependent transmission mode and calculates the distance to the partial discharge position from the partial discharge sensor.
