A pyrochlore crystal structured ceramic material and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to show low thermal conductivity of 1.3~1.6 W/mK while preventing a rapid decrease in thermal expansion coefficient within a temperature range of 200~400°C. A pyrochlore crystal structured ceramic material has a pyrochlore crystal structure of A2B2O7 and a composition of LaaY2-aCe2O7(0a2 and the a is an actual number). In the structure, the A site consists of a rare earth element including at least La and Y; and the B site is Ce. The A site additionally contains an element of Gd and the composition of La2-aGda+b-2Y2-bCe2O7(the a and b are actual numbers and satisfy the inequality of 0a2 and 0b2).
