Regulation region of transcription of Melanin Concentrating Hormone Gene in Olive Flounder

A promoter of melanin concentrating hormone gene of olive flounder is provided to maximize the expression of a foreign gene such as glowwarm luciferase gene as a reporter gene in an animal cell such as human embryonic kidney cell, and is useful for transformation of cultured fishes. A promoter of melanin concentrating hormone gene(MCH ORF(open reading frame)) of olive flounder has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1. The expression vectors, pGL2M-1487, pGL2M-865, pGL2M-500, pGL2M-115 and pGL2M-95 contain nucleotide sequences of from -1487th to -1st, -865th to -1st, -500th to -1st, -115th to -1st and -95th to -1st in the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, respectively, wherein the pGL2M-1487 shows transcription activity of melanin concentrating hormone gene of olive flounder through luciferase activity.
