Digital Contents Profits Sharing System and Control Method thereof

A system and a method for discriminatingly distributing profits of digital contents to a copyrighter and an editor are provided to discriminatingly distribute use charge of the digital contents to the copyrighter and the editor of the digital contents. An HTTP(HyperText Transfer Protocol) server(110) provides an environment for enabling a copyrighter and an editor to register digital contents. A transcoder(130) converts the digital contents into a service object format. A metadata encoder(150) encodes metadata including information for the digital contents, the copyrighter, and the editor. A DRM(Digital Rights Management) encoder(170) limits a use right for the digital contents by enabling the copyrighter and the editor to set the charge and a use type of the digital contents. A contents DB(190) stores the converted digital contents. An authentication server(300) authenticates the user accessing the digital contents stored in the contents database and checks whether the user has the use right. A profit distribution server(700) discriminatingly distributes the charge to the copyrighter and the editor.
