A method is disclosed for forming mounting tabs (2) on the outer side of an air diffuser body part (1 ), the mounting tabs serving to clamp the diffuser body in an air duct, the method comprising the step of fabricating the diffuser body from a substantially virgin sheet metal by a deep-drawing technique into its final blank shape, whereupon the bottom portion (1 "') of the body part blank is cut away in order to make an air flow opening (3) in the diffuser body. The invention is implemented by way of removing the cut-out portion from the bottom portion (1 "') in a fashion leaving in the diffuser body part two or more strips (2) that are subsequently bent over the edge of the diffuser body part so as to form mounting tabs (2).
