FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design and production of carbon-carbon composite materials. The composite material has density of 1.95-2.01 g/cm3 and has a multi-directional reinforcement frame and a graphitised matrix made from coal tar pitch which has undergone carbonisation and high-temperature graphitation. The multi-directional reinforcement frame is made from a double glased carbon-polymer bundle. According to the method of making the composite material, carbon and polymer fibres are doubled. The obtained carbon-polymer bundle is then glased and a multi-directional reinforcement frame is made from the said bundle. Further, the reinforcement frame and coal tar are heated to temperature (300±50)°C. The reinforcement frame is impregnated with molten coal tar and carbonated and the obtained workpiece undergoes high-temperature graphitation. The process of impregnation and graphitation is repeated until attaining density of the material in the range of 1.95-2.01 g/cm3.;EFFECT: increased stability of the structure, density, mechanical and operational properties of the material.;7 cl, 2 tbl
