FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices for water electrochemical treatment and can be used in household conditions and for improving water supply for public catering enterprises, medical and children's institutions, offices etc. The method for water electrotreatment through electrochemical coagulation involves its treatment using an electrode unit, where the initial water is fed in a vertical upward stream into the electrode unit in the inter-electrode spaces formed by parallel soluble anodes, soluble electrodes not directly connected to the power supply, and insoluble cathodes which are in form of the wall of the housing of the electrode unit, and water is treated with electrical current flowing through a series circuit formed by the insoluble cathodes, soluble electrodes not directly connected to the power supply, soluble anodes and the layers of water between them.;EFFECT: reduced labour input on servicing the device, broader functional capabilities of the device through its adaptation to any water composition and device manufacturer requirements, increased cost-effectiveness due to reduced soluble electrode material consumption, easier manufacturing and servicing the device, increased reliability of the device.;9 cl, 2 dwg
