FIELD: physics, measurements.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument making and can be used to align strapdown inertial navigation control systems. The method proceeds from preliminary processing of the input data received in the form of signals from pickups of the angles of attitude and heading reference system and from accelerometers of strapdown inertial unit (SIU). The said input data processing is based on the method of the least squares for definition of parameters of approximating functions, the use of projections of vectors of apparent acceleration, the allowance for the SIU mobility and the package of vectors directed relative to the Earth and forecasting the values of used vectors for the preset moment of time in measuring these vectors in different reference systems by different means and by simplifying the coordination of time scales.;EFFECT: decreased requirements to SIU immovability relative to Earth during measurements and increased accuracy of defining initial alignment of instrument system of coordinates of SIU relative to reference system of coordinates.
