FIELD: electricity.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to automation of electrical networks and is meant for monitoring unsuccessful operation of unit for automatic load transfer (ALT) during failure of separation automation (SA) of a sectiolised circuit breaker in a line. To achieve technical outcome, current surges are recorded and time between them is measured, starting from the onset of the first short circuit (SC) current surge on the transformer bus-bars of the primary power source. Time is taken, equal to reclosing dead time of the head switch, coming off the transformer bus-bars of the primary power source of the line, and at the end of time keeping, onset of the second short circuit current surge on the transformer bus-bars of the primary power source is monitored. If this short circuit current surge appears time is taken, equal to the time of operation of the unit for automatic load transfer. At the end of this onset of short circuit (SC) current surge on transformer bus-bars of a back-up power source is monitored, and its presence indicates unsuccessful operation of the unit for automatic load transfer during failure of separation automation of a sectiolised circuit breaker in a line. The existing method does not give information on unsuccessful switching of a unit for automatic load transfer in a ring network, powered from different bus-bars of two-transformer substations, during failure of separation automation of a sectiolised circuit breaker in a line. The proposed method allows for increasing functional capabilities due to obtaining information on unsuccessful operation of a unit for automatic load transfer during failure of separation automation of a sectiolised circuit breaker in a line.;EFFECT: more functional capabilities due to obtaining information on unsuccessful operation of a unit for automatic load transfer during failure of separation automation of a sectiolised circuit breaker in a line.;2 dwg
