FIELD: electricity.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing contacts and weldability of contact materials and can be used for determining minimum welding current and welding durability. According to the invention, direct current is passed through a closed cold contact pair with little amplification. One of the contacts is mounted on a vibrating table. The contact pair is brought into mechanical resonance. The amplitude of voltage of electric oscillations is recorded from readings of a synchronous electric oscillations detector, connected to a measuring fixed resistor R, connected in series with the contact pair. Current passing through the electric contact is smoothly increased, and at the moment when voltage of electric oscillations across the resistor R disappears, welding of the contact is recorded and the corresponding minimum welding current is determined. Welding durability is determined at high amplitude of external mechanical action on the contact pair from the relationship between the amplitude of voltage of electric oscillations across the resistor R and amplitude of alternating contact force, measured by a strain sensor.;EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining welding durability and minimum welding current.;3 cl, 2 dwg
