FIELD: mining.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to mining industry, and namely to methods of detecting a boundary layer by using a shield support. Boundary layer detecting method involves at least one shield support with a slide for underground mining, a girder, at least one drop hammer located between the slide and the girder, and at least one acoustic sensor attached to the girder and/or to the slide. It is determined by means of evaluating the acoustic signal measured with the acoustic sensor whether the extracting tool digs coal totally or partially or mined rock totally.;EFFECT: developing easy detection method and cost reduction.;1 dwg
