The socket (1) has a housing (2) with a socket opening for inserting a plug part (4) e.g. E-2000(RTM: connector) plug, and a sleeve holder arranged in the housing. A central sleeve (6) is held in the holder for retaining a plug pin (7) that is attached to the plug part. A sealing element (8) i.e. O-ring sealant, is arranged in an area of a front side of the sleeve for sealing the plug part in a peripheral area (16). The sleeve is floatingly supported in the holder, which has an inward directed flange (9) for securing the sealing element in the area of free ends.
