The device has hooking units e.g. horns (1, 1a), for hooking a strap to an object i.e. watch case (2), and respectively comprising opposed female coupling formations e.g. recess (5) and blind perforation (5a). The recess is opened on a lower face and an inner side face of the corresponding hooking unit. A slide (4) is slidably mounted on one of the hooking units. The slide is movable between a locking position, in which the slide closes the opening of the recess, and a releasing position in which the slide releases the opening of the recess.
