A power converter has an input connection and an output connection and comprises a storage inductor coupled to the input connection, a first switch for charging- and discharging the storage inductor, an active snubber with a second switch coupled to a reference voltage, a rectifier which is coupled to the storage inductor to the active snubber and to the output terminal to transfer energy from the storage inductor to the output connection. A control circuit provides control signals for controlling operation of the first- and second-switch via the switching cycle so that the second switch closes in order to effect that a current is conducted in the rectifier and from the rectifier to the active snubber in order to enable the first circuit to close at zero voltage and to re-enable it so that the second switch opens at zero current. An independent claim is also included for a method for power regulation in power converter.
