The method involves obtaining a fine grain fraction of cinder (7) that is dryly discharged, and leading back the cinder into a feed opening (2) of a dry deslagger (4). The fine grain fraction of the dryly discharged cinder is cooled before being fed back. A mass flow of the led back fine grain fraction of the dryly discharged cinder ranges between 0.5 to 3 times of a mass flow of the cinder entered into the feed opening of the dry deslagger. The fine grain fraction of the dryly discharged cinder exhibits a grain size of 4 millimeter. The dry deslagger includes a conveyor device (3). An independent claim is also included for a device for dry discharge of cinder from an upstream combustion system, comprising a classifying device.
