Improving separation of mixed-bed ion-exchange resins for more efficient regeneration, first backwashes with sodium chloride solution

The mixed bed resins are supplied with sodium chloride solution before the regeneration process itself. The sodium chloride solution is used for back-washing. It preferably has a conductivity of 100-200 mu S/cm and a sodium chloride concentration of about 24 wt%. The concentration of the solution leaving is preferably 10-15 mu S/cm. The anion exchange resin is a styrene divinyl benzene resin with strongly basic groups. The cation exchange resin is a styrene divinyl benzene resin with strongly acid groups.
