The mixed bed resins are supplied with sodium chloride solution before the regeneration process itself. The sodium chloride solution is used for back-washing. It preferably has a conductivity of 100-200 mu S/cm and a sodium chloride concentration of about 24 wt%. The concentration of the solution leaving is preferably 10-15 mu S/cm. The anion exchange resin is a styrene divinyl benzene resin with strongly basic groups. The cation exchange resin is a styrene divinyl benzene resin with strongly acid groups.
