The method involves heating an area (7) of a derived timber board (1), which is to be molded. The derived timber board is formed under pressure. The heating is carried out by doping the derived timber board with water and water vapour, and by heating the doped area. The doping with water and water vapour takes place for adjusting the surface tension. An independent claim is also included for a device for molding area of a derived timber board.
