The plate (1) has a ductile hollow body (2) forming a support surface (4) and a seat surface (18), and a cavity in the hollow body partitioned into a majority of chambers by a number of partition walls, where the chambers are fillable with a fluid e.g. gel. The chambers lying one above the other are separated from each other by the partition walls aligned parallel to the support surface. Each of the chambers is filled with the fluid over associated valves (12, 14) of each chamber independent of the other chambers, where the valves are attached to each of the chambers.
