The refiner (1) has a cutting tool (14) forming a mill gap within a housing (3). The mill gap rotates around an axle relative to each other. A lignocellulose-based charging material is given in the form of fluid solid flow to the mill gap, processed in the course of a passage by the mill gap and extracted from the housing over a material discharge opening (17). The material discharge opening has a valve for controlling fluid solid flow. A turbulence producing unit produces turbulences in fluid solid flow, and is arranged in a section of the material discharge opening lying upstream of valve.
