Additive useful in materials for the production of tooth-technical models and templates for the improvement of the photographic characteristics for an optical 3-dimensional (D)-measurement of the models and templates, comprises a color pigment coordinated with the applicable measurement principle. Independent claims are included for: (1) a dental gypsum for the production of a tooth model, where: the dental gypsum does not exist in hardened powder or liquid state, and the additive is available for the improvement of the photograph characteristics of the dental gypsum and exhibits the color pigment based on chromium/antimony/titanium oxide; and (2) the production of a dental model using a dental gypsum, which is present in powder or liquid state, where the additive is added to the dental gypsum before shaping in a cast.
