The device for the production of fresh water from salt water, comprises a channel (1) in which a saltwater groove (7) is arranged, where the channel entrance is guided to a discharge position by the salt water from an introduction position, and in which a fresh water groove (6) is arranged, where the fresh water evaporated from the salt water and condensed at channel interior wall is collectable and the channel end is guidable to the discharge position. The saltwater is heatable in the salt water groove through solar radiation (4) influencing on the channel. The device for the production of fresh water from salt water, comprises a channel (1) in which a saltwater groove (7) is arranged, where the channel entrance is guided to a discharge position by the salt water from an introduction position, and in which a fresh water groove (6) is arranged, where the fresh water evaporated from the salt water and condensed at channel interior wall is collectable and the channel end is guidable to the discharge position. The saltwater is heatable in the salt water groove through solar radiation (4) influencing on the channel. The upper channel area (3) is transparently formed for the infrared portion of the sun light. The salt water groove has a higher sun light absorption than the fresh water groove and is arranged on/at a path or stalk in an interval to the channel wall. The salt water groove is arranged in a focus area of a lower channel interior wall that forms a hollow mirror for incident sun light in the channel. A fresh water groove is arranged near or at the base in the channel, where the fresh water groove is partially formed by the base area of the channel. The channel between the channel entrance and the channel end is subdivided into channel sections that have a dip in the direction of the channel end so that the salt water and the fresh water are transportable in the direction of the channel entrance to the channel end. The volumetric capacity per length unit of the salt water groove decreases with a progressive distance of the channel entrance and the volumetric capacity per length unit of the fresh water groove increases with the progressive distance of the channel entrance. The discharge position in the channel stretching is intended from the channel end to redirect the salt water with increased salt concentration from the channel. The introduction position in the channel stretching is intended before the channel end to reduce high concentration of the salt water in the salt water groove. A piping is arranged in or on the channel to supply fresh salt water to the introduction position. The entrance and the end of the channel sections are arranged in different heights. The fresh water is transferred by a solar pump unit from a channel section to other channel section. The salt water increasing in the salt concentration is conducted from the channel at the end of the channel section and is transferred only the fresh water. An independent claim is included for a procedure for the desalination of salt water.
