The device (1) has a wire guide head (2) with multiple separate wire guides (14-16) for conductor wires (4-6). Parts of the wire guides are relatively moved together in a sectional manner for changing distance of the guided conductor wires running from the guide head. Each wire guide has a movable guide element (17) provided with rollers (20). The conductor wires are guided between the rollers. A central control device (26) is arranged for controlling deformation of the wire guides.
