The method involves providing an antenna (ANT), and determining a parameter for a portion of a transmitting power of the antenna, which is radiated in a form of a free space-transmission power from a surface of a transmission device (SE). The transmission power of the antenna is regulated depending on a determined parameter such that free space transmission power does not exceed a limit value. The measurement is taken by an ultrasonic measuring device and by determination of an electrical resistance of the deposition. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement with a transmission device, comprising a sensor device.
