The vehicle has a door drive (4) assigned to side doors (1) to permit movement of the doors from an open position into a closing position during a closing process. A controller (5) acquires a part of user actions e.g. closing of seat belt, in a vehicle interior, and initiates the closing process upon the existence of predetermined user actions. The user actions initiating the closing process are not originally targeted at an active initiation of the closing process or are executed without active actuation of an electronic control unit i.e. remote controller. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a door drive assigned to a motor vehicle door.
