The unit includes a hot gas nozzle (2), a feeder (9) for welding material (filler strand) and a pressure roller (11). The pressure roller feeds and presses the welding material into an assigned reception zone. A connector (14) couples the gas nozzle (2) to the pressure roller and feeder, such that the nozzle hot gas outlet opening (6) is directed in a predetermined manner, onto the pressing roller feeding the welding material. The rapid welding nozzle is incorporated in a welding unit which is optionally automatic.
