The ring fixator has two rings that are held at a distance at which bones are fastened by guided wires. The distance and position of the two rings are adjustable with six adjusting elements. Each of the adjusting elements has an actuator (1) as integral component for length variation. The actuator is formed from an element as a shape memory alloy.
