The hood (1) has a viewing window (2), and an inner-sided fastening device for fastening the hood at a protective helmet. The fastening device is fastened at an inner side of the hood. The fastening device is formed as an elastically flexible fastening sleeve (4), which is stretched at the helmet by the formation of an adhesive connection between the sleeve and a surface of the helmet during fastening the hood. The sleeve consists of aramide fibers, and is provided with a friction increasing detention coating that is formed as silicone coating.
