The method involves producing a metallic casing on a base, where the casing stands at the walls of a basement. The casing stands on floor plates and wall plates. The floor and wall plates consists of smaller metallic sheets and plates. The metallic sheets and plates are welded together in slabs. Upper edges of the metallic sheets, which consist of wall plates, are provided to support angle sections or similar units. The wall plates have an upper edge higher than expected water level (6) of subterranean water. An independent claim is also included a device for hydro-isolation of a basement during renovation.
