The carrier (4) has protecting elements (5-13, 15, 16) positioned on a side of a roof (2) e.g. soft top, of a vehicle (1) e.g. cabriolet vehicle. The protecting elements are connected with a vehicle body (3) upon height of a lateral window breast. The protecting elements are held in a position protecting the vehicle roof in a mounted condition, where external loads at the height of the window breast are passed into the vehicle body. The loads act on the vehicle in a region of the vehicle roof.
