The arrangement has an object slide (2) i.e. couch, movable over and below a therapy and/or diagnosis equipment (1) and/or movable back and forth in the equipment. A drive system (3) i.e. electric motor, moves the object slide, and a position measuring system (4) detects position of the object slide relative to the equipment. A control system (5) is provided for controlling the drive system, and the position measuring system comprises an optical detection tag (41) and an optical scanner (42) i.e. light guide, and information conductive stays in connection with the control system.
