The method involves operating a section of a washing phase with a water amount with a predetermined temperature, and adding additional water amount to the former water amount in another section of the washing phase. The increased water amount is heated in the latter section of the washing phase to another predetermined temperature. Clothes (8) are charged with a high action in the former section of the washing phase, where the former section of the washing phase has the duration of approximately 9 to 12 minutes. An independent claim is also included for a washing machine or a washer dryer comprising a housing.
