The spanner has a jaw (10) for loosening a coupling nut according to a type of a profile nut with an outer casing profile. The jaw is formed such that an interior of the jaw is formed according to the outer casing profile. The jaw is set by a feed movement on the profile and is radially aligned with respect to the coupling nut for loosening the coupling nut. The jaw is formed such that a thread protective cap screwed onto a connecting thread of a gas cylinder is detachable. The coupling nut has a circular cylinder-like outer casing section.
