The device has frequency converters (6) supplying power to motors (7), where the motors are connected with the frequency converters by a power cable (8). Each frequency converter is attached to the each motor, where data e.g. temperature, of the motor is transmitted by the power cable. The motor is provided with a modem that is connected to the converter, where a sensor (9) is connected to the modem. The converter is connected to a communication bus (4) by a bus coupler (13). The modem is connected to the power cable by a coupling unit.
