The device has an adjustable blind (1) coordinated with a traction device (17). The traction device supports a closing movement of the blind to close a transparent roof area. The traction device is designed as a flexible pull cable i.e. steel cable, or a pull rope with reduced dimensional stability. The traction device has a circular cross section. A winding drum (3) with its axis (13) is arranged in a transversal direction of a vehicle horizontal to a roof lining. A traction roll (21) is arranged together with the winding drum at ends of a guide rail (11).
