The device has a supporting unit (4) molded for fitting a table-ware ceramic-molded part (1), and comprising sections with a negative contour (5) for a molded part contour (6). A movement unit (7) is provided for moving the supporting unit and the table-ware ceramic molded part that is non-aligningly supported on the supporting unit relative to each other for defined topographical and positive alignment of a molded part outline in the negative contour. Multiple openings are formed in the supporting unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for aligning a casted or pressed table-ware ceramic molded part.
