The dosing system (2) has a dosing valve (10) for delivering a reducing agent in an exhaust system. A dosing pump (8) is provided for delivering the reducing agent and for supplying delivered reducing agent to dosing valve by a supply pipe (9). The supply pipe connects the dosing pump with the dosing valve. The dosing pump is designed for the reducing agent delivered from the dosing pump for the execution of the individual conveyance steps with adjustable individual delivery rate. An independent claim is included for a method for dosing a liquid reducing agent in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine.
