The method involves driving a suction blower and/or a brush (6) by a direct current brush motor (7) that is operated in a slow operation mode or in a nominal speed range. Speed of the motor is readjusted during increase in the speed in the slow operation mode. The brush motor is stopped during exceedance of a predetermined motor current value in the slow operation mode. Regulation of the motor is performed during falling below of a predetermined load when the motor is operated in the nominal speed range, where the speed is not increased above a predetermined maximum value.
