The sensor (100) has structures (102, 102') with periodically varying dielectric characteristics, respectively. The structures are arranged on surfaces of a coplanar waveguide (106), respectively. A unit cell (532) of one of the structures is measured with the characteristics, such that the sensor exhibits frequency-dependent transfer behavior with transfer minimum. The sensor is implemented in such a manner that a measured variable (552) of the waveguide influences one of the dielectric characteristics or the other dielectric characteristic or a relationship between the structures.
