The vehicle (1) has a sensor (3) e.g. parking aid sensor, for monitoring a rear section (5). A keyless access system (2) activates the sensor during detection of approach of a user (6) to the vehicle. An automatically openable hatchback (7) is automatically opened during entry of the user into the rear section. A position of the user relative to the vehicle is determined with the access system. The monitored rear section is optically markable. A color change of the optical marking of the rear section is realizable and an acoustic signal is output, when opening the hatchback.
