The device has three chains (9a, 10a, 11a), where ends of the chains (9a, 10a) are spaced apart from each other and fastened to suspended points (9b, 10b) of a cover (4). The cover is in a center region (13) with respect to a horizontal extension, while an end of the third chain (11a) is fastened to a suspended point (11b). A counter weight is fastened to the end of the chain (11a) within a vertical frame (6), where weight of the counter weight is equal to or greater than weight of the cover. A mechanical or electric drive lifts and lowers the cover over the chains.
