A mobile device for entering commands has a radio-signal transmitter. A stationary receiver unit (3) has a number of interfaces like an external antenna connection (10), a serial input (11), a serial output (14), a controllable input (18) and a controllable output (21). A loading facility (16) causes direct pickup of radio-encoded control signals from the radio-signal transmitter. The mobile device for entering commands is a programmable mobile telephone, a personal digital assistant (PDA) or a computer system. An independent claim is also included for a method for remote control of a toy device like a toy car.
